Design software has spent the last decade getting better at one thing: finding new ways to charge you. Premium templates locked behind subscriptions. Stock photos that watermark your work until you upgrade. Fonts you "have access to" but can't actually export. Features marked "Pro" for no reason except that someone in a meeting decided $12.99/month sounded reasonable.
We disagreed. So we built something else.
KoalaFul ships every feature, every template, every premium asset on the free plan. We don't have a Pro tier for individuals. The full editor, the full library, the full export pipeline — all free, forever, for everyone who just wants to make something.

We charge developers and agencies who want to embed KoalaFul into their own products through our API. Bulk personalisation, white-label exports, programmatic generation — that's the Pro tier, and it's priced for the businesses that actually benefit from it.
Everyone else gets the full product for free. The B2B API revenue subsidises the free tier for the rest of the world. That's the whole business model.
Design is a craft, not a paywall. The tools should help people make things — not extract money at every step.
AI shouldn't replace the editor. AI integrations are a wonderful shortcut for some workflows, but a real visual editor is still where the work happens. We build for both, and we don't pretend a prompt box is a design tool.
Bring your own AI. You already pay for ChatGPT or Claude. We don't charge you again for AI features — we plug into the ones you're already using.
Your data is yours. We don't train models on your designs. We don't sell your data. We don't surface your work in marketing without asking.
KoalaFul started as one person's side project and has grown into a tool used by marketers, small business owners, social media creators, homeschoolers, agencies, and a growing number of developers building on top of the API.
